Cast Audition Pre-Registration Form

In March 2024, stageGR is producing MATILDA! The rehearsals will take place at EAST CHURCH, located at 1005 Giddings Ave SE Grand Rapids 49506. Performances will be held at Cornerstone University's Matthews Auditorium on March 7 through 10.

Casting is open to anyone age 8 through 108.

Important Information...

unlike other stageGR productions, when everyone that registers is guaranteed a role in the cast, our production of MATILDA will have a thorough audition process and sadly, the directors will have to make cuts.

Auditions for MATILDA

stageGR is looking for cast members ages 8-108 to audition for the various roles in our production of MATILDA! Cast members should be prepared to sing a 16 or 32 measure cut from a show-tune (bring a copy of the music for the accompanist). We anticipate having an overwhelming amount of interested people for these roles, and we regretfully will not be able to place everyone in the cast. The roles will be assigned based on talent, schedule availability, look, and other factors. From this casting call, stageGR will cast the roles of MATILDA, MISS TRUNCHBULL, MISS HONEY, MR WORMWOOD, MRS WORMWOOD, MICHAEL WORMWOOD, BRUCE, LAVENDER, AMANDA, NIGEL, ERIC, ALICE, HORTENSIA, TOMMY, RUDOLPHO, THE ACROBAT, THE ESCAPOLOGIST, MRS. PHILIPS, and MANY MORE...

Because this production is a non-tuition community theatre event, auditions will be competitive. Timely participation at auditions is required as well as at callbacks if required, is urged, however this does not guarantee you a role.

ATTENDANCE POLICY: Cast member attendance is mandatory at all tech and dress rehearsals, and show times. Participation in this production should be the participant's highest priority over other activities. In the event of unavoidable schedule conflicts, please notify the directors at least 24 hours in advance. If you miss an excessive amount of rehearsals, you may be replaced.

At stageGR, we are committed to keeping our tuition costs low as possible for our elementary-to-high-school programs, but also to give enriching theatre opportunities to individuals who do not have the means to pay tuition.
